Experience & Perspective

Cycling has been a constant thread in Thomas’ life for more than three decades—not as a career chosen early, but as a curiosity that never let go.

What began in bike shops in the mid-1990s grew into a lifelong pursuit of understanding the relationship between rider and bicycle. Along the way, that journey led through bicycle retail, biomechanics research, university teaching, product development, rider education, professional racing environments, and clinical bodywork. While the settings changed, the question remained remarkably consistent: how can cyclists ride more comfortably, perform more effectively, and continue enjoying the sport for years to come?

Over the years, Thomas has worked with riders across the full spectrum—from those discovering cycling for the first time to athletes competing at the highest levels of the sport, including riders who have worn the rainbow stripes, Olympic gold medalists, and winners of cycling's iconic Spring Classics. Those experiences reinforced a simple lesson: lasting solutions rarely come from chasing trends or searching for quick fixes. They come from careful observation, thoughtful problem-solving, and a willingness to listen.

RedEye Service Course was created to bring those experiences together in one place. It reflects a belief that every rider deserves thoughtful guidance, clear communication, and solutions built around their individual goals, challenges, and equipment. At its core is a simple mission: helping more people discover the joy of cycling—and helping those who already ride continue doing so comfortably, confidently, and for years to come.

Cycling has a way of humbling those who stay with it long enough. It rewards curiosity, demands patience, and reminds us that the body is always part of the conversation. That perspective continues to guide the work at RedEye today—with the goal of helping riders move better, ride more comfortably, make informed decisions, and remain connected to what drew them to the bicycle in the first place.

Today, with over 20 years of bike fit experience, and 30 years of mechanical adventures, Thomas is as stoked as ever to work with riders one-on-one.
